This exempt position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all of the functions within the laboratory. Testing, staffing, training, scheduling, maintaining supplies, and relating with department administration, other labs, and physicians; ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost contained, and are carried out in an expeditious manner; responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the laboratory director or pathologist.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education and Training Experience preferred
- BS degree in medical technology or affiliated science advanced degree preferred.
- Florida Supervisor License in all 5 areas of the Lab required or eligible
- Must meet current CLIA standards for either a Technical or General Supervisor.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Experience with a laboratory information system is recommended.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Florida Supervisor MT Licence required.
- Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and requirements necessary.
