Summary:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: One (1) year's previous venipuncture experience in an acute hospital or healthcare field in related work, and at least one(1) year's previous experience as a laboratory assistant in an acute hospital. Knowledge and Skills: The individual may or may not perform all the essential job functions, depending upon the level of experience. License/Certifications: State-approved phlebotomy certificate POSITION SUMMARY: Performs venipuncture/skin puncture on patients of all ages for the purpose of obtaining a blood specimen for laboratory testing. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Lab Scientist, assists in the performance of laboratory testing. Processes and distributes specimens for testing and sendout referral to reference labs.
