Medical Technologist: E22000 or Medical Technician: E21000 JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the appropriate supervisory personnel, performs the following functions for patients of all ages: Performs laboratory procedures which require the broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Maintains equipment and records. Troubleshoots procedural and technical problems. Performs quality assurance activities related to test performance. May function in an educator, consultant or in a supervisory capacity, within a medical laboratory setting. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFIACATION: #1: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree of an accredited technology program and eligibility for certification from a recognized national certifying organization. Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions assigned. OR #2: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or Clinical Laboratory Science. Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions assigned. Minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Technician required. OR #3: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological science required for application as a Medical Technician E21000.

Medical Lab Technician: C18001 JOB SUMMARY: In conjunction with the Directors, Manager, Project Scientist and area Supervisory personnel, performs the following functions: Performs laboratory testing functions to include reagent preparation, plate preparation, production, testing, and quality control. Assists with analysis and troubleshooting of production monitoring. Maintains instrumentation and equipment in assigned section. Maintains and/or prepares reagents and supplies/inventory. Participates in educational activities. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree program in Medical Laboratory Technology or an Associates Degree in Biological Sciences. Physical demands for Medical Technologist or Medical Technician or Medical Lab Tech include: Visual acuity to study specimens under a microscope. The ability to distinguish colors. Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment. May be required to stand for long periods of time. Light lifting may be required. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.
